Default 2005 S40 2.4 fwd abs light, anti skid, icarsoft

Trying to help my mother in law. Abs light and anti skid warning in message center. Icarsoft scan says no signal from left front and sensor. Tried to clear, but blinked and was back on immediately, without driving or doing anything. Replaced sensor and no change. Old and new sensor metered to ~25ohms. What do I check next and what are the common issues?

thank you

It would be a bit of a pain, but you need to try to trace out the wiring. I've seen ice and snow stress and break the cables / connectors on ABS sensors. I'd bet dollars to donuts that's what's happening here. Volvo's manual stinks, so there's not much specific info I can suggest beyond that...

thank you for the response. Really appreciate it and didn’t consider it previously. I will check for broken connections next and report back.

it worked! Found a nick in the wire between the sensor and wheel well, soldered the broken wire and sealed the repair. Reinstalled and fastened in a couple more places since it appeared the nick was caused by suspension flex after hittting a pothole. Thank you for the advise.
