2005 S40 Plasti Dip Results
So for at least 12 months the window trim area on my 2005 S40 has looked crappy, the rubber had rotted and was falling off in chunks. I removed all of it and applied 7 layers of black Plasti Dip and the results are fantastic. While I was at it I did the rear badges as well. They too came out great. Please see the photos in my album.
The silver / plastic trim on the top of the rear bumper looks like crap so I cleaned off the fractured plastic and will Plasti Dip that so it looks like 1 black piece of rubber accent.
After that I plan on doing the faded rocker panels and the maybe the black plastic under the front and rear bumpers... then maybe the grill.
By then I will have run out of black to cover... except for the wiper blades :-)
My neighbor wanted to know how the Plasti Dip "knew" not to stick to areas that I did not want to coat! It reminded me of the old Thermos joke... but how does it know when to be hot or cold? :-)
