I have a 2005 s40 t5 with 86,000 miles. new plugs the regular stuff getting hesitation sometimes on giving gas and when you floor it at around 4500 rpm you get a major hesitation in the motor then continues on regular. I am thinking of changing the fule filter but I know there are special connectors on the ends to atttach it. what is the tricck on geting the fuel filter off and the new one on and also does anyone have any suggestions on the hesitations????

does this agree with your model's design?

As to hesitation, could be a few things. Did you scan for any fault codes? Could be a fuel pressure issue or a spark issue (what do the plugs look like?, hows the wire harness and connectors to the coils etc? Any other symptoms like the temp gauge acting oddly or hard starts (cold or warm?)?
