2006 s40 2.4i oil pan removal/replace
i cracked my oil pan on my 2006 volvo s40 2.4i, i need a star alan key to take off something thats connected to the oil pan to get to some screws and im wondering if there is anything else that i would need to remove to get to any other bolts holding the pan on. It looks like I might need to take off a cannister looking thing thats connected to a pulley with a belt on it to get to 1 or maybe 2 screws but im not sure and wanted to make sure before i do that?
ps
If anyone knows the answer to this.. do i have to take that thing off completely which would probably remove the belt also or just a few screws to manuever in there to get the rest of the oil pan screws out.

done - let me know how you make out. You may want to consider getting a pirated version of vida if you routinely do work on your beast...best $50 I ever spent for maintaining my Volvo! You do need an old laptop with XP on it though...
As an aside - make sure you get good liquid gasket. If you can't afford the over-priced volvo stuff, get the Toyota liquid gasket instead. They sell two kinds, I think you just need the regular stuff (not the stuff I needed to buy for my tranny pan).

Any chance I could get the Instructions for the oil pan replacement that you kindly sent to Dan OK? tomlusk@comcast.net
Many thanks if it is convenient and possible.
