Default 2006 Volvo S40 2.4i Oil Pan

Hi All,

I am in the process of replacing the PCV Oil Trap on my 2006 Volvo s40 2.4i, and thought it would be a good idea to clean out the oil pan. Looking under the car it seems like that I would need to drop the AC compressor before I could get to the oil pan. Am I looking at this right or is there a way to get the pan off without getting to drop the AC Compressor?

Also should I clean it out?

Thanks
Zipp

Correct, you need to unbolt the compressor. You can leave the lines attached though, it will move out of the way enough to access the oil pan bolts without completely removing it.
