I have a 2006 s40 just recently bought 60k miles on it. The radio doesn't work, no sound no display. It has the basic factory installed radio in it. You can push the sound button and adjust the bass, treble, balance, and fader. But when you press the radio power button the picture of the s40 comes up but then nothing. No radio displays above the climate displays. The climate control buttons and display is working correctly and so are all the other electrical items in the car. I called the dealer and they said there isn't a code for this radio, but the code error isn't being displayed either. Nothing is displayed where the radio lcd should be. The dealer wants me to bring it in, but I was just checking if anyone knew any tips or tricks. All help is appreciated.

 

Because these things are software driven, you have no choice. Likely needs a software reset/upgrade. One thing you can try is to disconnet the battery and leave it for at least 2 hours then reconnect, sometimes that will reset it.
