When I go to start my 06 s40 the gas cover and trunk both pop open. The “engine system service urgent” light has also turned on as well. The other thing that I noticed is that the headlight that I recently replaced will not turn on at all. Does anyone have any ideas on what this can be? I have tried disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it which turned the the “engine system service urgent” off temporarily but it is back on now.

 

How is the battery voltage? Especially when cranking. This car is very sensitive to proper voltage. If your battery is weak or your cables are dirty it could cause problems when trying to start the engine.
