2006 Strut replacement
Hello all. I am new to the forum and did some searching regarding suspension changes...
I am looking to do all 4 corners of my 2006 S40 T5 AWD. Is this a straight forward job? I have a spring compressor and know I have to do an alighment afterwords.
1. Is this something that can be done by one person (in a garage)?
2. Are there any tips or suggestions?
3. Also are the bilstiens worth the double price?
4. I also assume I should change to new springs right (car has 100k miles).
I look forward to feeedback.

You can DIY with one person. The rears are super easy, no spring compressor needed. Just unbolt the bottom then reach up inside the wheel well and remove the two bolts at the top which secure the mount. Remove the nut that attaches the shock shaft to the mount. Then install in reverse order.
For the fronts: Swedespeed Forums - Write Up: Front Struts and Springs Installation..
The springs are likely still good. I have 105K miles and my springs are fine. You should replace the front strut mounts, strut bearings and possibly the strut bumper.
