My Volvo is very loud and sluggish until it gets up to normal operating temperatures. Cold weather seems to aggravate this. Not real cold either, temps in the 40s and 50s.

It starts fine. When first driving it, it is very loud, sounding throaty. Also very sluggish, no power to accelerate. Once it gets up to normal engine temp, it seems to operate normally.

I am taking it to be serviced next week, but would like to know if others had similar issues and any resolution.

The vehicle has 85,000 miles on it. The spark plugs have been changed on it within the last 15,000 miles.

It probably just needs servicing. Are the plugs replaced by a dealer or OEM/Volvo part?
Things to look for:
-Engine Air Filter,
-MAF (is it clean?),
-Fuel filter,
-Coolant change,
