Default slow, sluggish, and 4,000 max rpm?! why!

Hey,
so i recently bought a 1999 s70 t5 with 150,000 miles on it. the previous owner had the car for all but the first 10,000 miles. i have had the car a week and everything was fine except for the common maf problem. i noticed when i first turn the car on the rpm jumps to 1500 rpm and than all the way down to 600 or 700 before leveling off around 1000 rpm.
however, three days ago i decided to change the oil. I decided to use a synthetic blend since the previous owner only used reg oil, i had a local mechanic change it. two days later im having a huge problem! i still have the same rpm startup problem but now the car is extremely slow and sluggish. i get the feeling the car is gasping for more air (however, i have a k & n filter installed) i took it to advanced auto parts and got the following p0014 (possibly caused by a clogged or dirty oil pan?), p1332 ( possibly the solenoid?) and the p1171 (maf?).. all these seem to be common problems, but i have nvr seen the problem including a 4000 rpm stall or redline. what could this possibly mean??

Unplug your maf and see how it idles. If idles perfect then need new or clean maf.

i tried it today and when i unplugged it and started the car, it idled wildly! it jumped between like 600 and 2500 rpm. but when i reconnected it and drove the car wasnt so as slow as it was. but when i pushed on the accelerator hard the rpms would jump and than once i took my foot off the pedal the rpms dropped to 1500 rpms like right away and the car would shutter.. and it still maxed out at 3500 rpm now..

I am not a mechanic but speaking from past experience.D id you clean your maf sensor ? If you haven't I would go to the local automotive store, and buy MAF sensor cleaner or a friend told me, get a bag and put a full regular bottle of isopropyl rubbing alcohol, and put the maf sensor in the bag, and shake the bag for about 30 seconds, leave the MAF sensor in there for about 5 minutes to let the alcohol absorb the dirt from the dirty MAF sensor, and finally take out the sensor and let it dry, and wipe off any excess liquid, and put the MAF sensor back, and see how the car is running, hopefully a nice clean MAF sensor will let do some good. If that doesn't work, I would probably be looking at getting a good intake manifold cleaning done, also a new MAF, in a addition get all the filters replaced. BTW how old is the MAF on the car ? When was the last major tune up done to the car ? I would also look at replacing the transmission fluid with new seals and gaskets. The new transmission oil is kinda out of context but would make your new car shift better and smoother.

Default Tranny???

Sometimes when there is a problem the transmission will go to a safe mode and basically be in one gear and has a very slow start but when it gets up to around 25mph it feels fine. just a guess
