I'm having an intermittent issue that prevents the car from starting or even turning over. First time was when trying to start after turning it off following a short drive. It started after trying many times, but the tach was pinned at 0 and it wouldn't get out of P. Had to have it towed to the shop. Shop checked codes (lots of module communication faults), connections and such and then reset the entire computer system. Symptoms and all fault codes went away and it started and ran fine. At no time did it show any non-communication ABS or SAS faults. Second time it happened was while driving. Warnings/alerts came on, so did windshield wipers. Turn signals stopped working. Got home, parked, shut the car down and now it won't even turn over. Symptoms:
When I turn the key, nothing, but ABS, Anti-Skid, Red ! Triangle, Oil Pressure, and BRAKE lights all come on. Alerts appear for "Anti-Skid Service Required", "Brake Failure Stop Safely" and "Immobilizer See Manual". Shots of the dash are attached.
Windshield wipers start and stop randomly
Turn signals don't work
Very slow acceleration, like it's stuck in first gear
Passenger heated seat got really hot
Speedo and tach were pinned at 0 while moving
Scanner only registers 7 or 8 modules (normally registers 28)
Currently showing only 4 fault codes:
DIM-0001
CEM-8C20
CEM-0002
ABS-0115
Any thoughts? I read somewhere that it could be as simple as a loose or corroded connection on the CEM?
