Default 2007 S40, Engine Shuts Off While Braking

Hey,
I'm new to the forum, I glanced over the forum rules and read various posts related to my current problem, but I did not see any. So I apologize in advance if this is a duplicated thread or in the wrong spot.
MY PROBLEM
1) I'm having some acceleration issues, it doesnt hesitate or stutter, but boggs (TOO rich?) and it's slow to respond until 3/4-WOT.
2) After the engine reahes operating tempeture while braking the enginge shuts off. It does it often and it has a tendency to shut off @3-10MPH almost when I've reached a complete stop.
3) It has a slight rough idle in (D) after Reaching operating tempeture. In (P) while reving the engine after I release the accelerator the engine stutters and almost wants to shut off.
4) I have a couple DTS codes related to communications between modules and a P0172 code referring to bank 1 being rich.
THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN DONE SO FAR
I bought it with the check engine light on. Its a high milage vechicle 200,00+. I replaced the Mass Air Flow Sensor, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Spark Plugs, Oil Change.
The previous owner said the head gasket was replaced recently, o2 sensors and the maintenance has been kept up.
I did a quick visual when I bought the car and didnt notice anything, but when I took the VVT silenoid out to bench test it. and one of the ports was clogged with liquid gasket, now its working properly and that DTS code is gone. I also noticed a suction while the engine was running and removing the oil filler cap. So I checked the Diaphram located in the oil filter housing/pcv unit and didnt see a tear, but the spring wasnt seated properly under the diaphram. Now I don't have as much suction but when I remove the oil filter cap the motors idle rises for a moment before falling back?? Iv'e also checked my pcv lines with carb clean for leaks but didnt find one (not sure if I have any under the dash in the cabin??)

Anyone that can offer an opinion or advise I would really apreciate it...

Check for proper fuel pressure.

Is it a turbo or i model?

The head gasket replacement is what would have me worried. There are a LOT of ways that job can end badly, or incompletely. If they didn't catch / fix a cracked head or block, for example (any pressure in the coolant from exhaust leakage?).

Double-triple check the timing. Getting a Volvo properly timed is not a trivial matter, and lots of shops have messed that up.
