2008 s40 Center Console
Hi all,
I apologize if this is posted somewhere, I searched and did not find what I'm looking for.
I just purchased a CPO 2008 s40. The car is beautiful, nearly perfect. The only issue is the previous owner dented the metal center console by the shift ****. It is very unattractive and is the only aspect of the car that makes it feel pre-owned.
I was looking online for a replacement and, when I was unable to find one, had a few questions...
1) Are there after-market replacement metal covers available? If so, does anyone know where?
2) Would it be difficult to replace? Is it something I could do myself?
3) Does anyone have any other options/suggestions?
Also, if there is an existing thread, please direct me to it and I will ask mods to delete this thread.
Thanks in advance,
Nick

As much as I like the looks of the metal trim, I don't like how easy it is to dent...I've had my 2009 S40 for 11 months and I've already dented the trim in several places on the driver side door and in one place on the center console.
Would be nice to know how to remove/replace the pieces...would be even nicer to know how to back out the dents if it's even possible.

I did not realize it was so easy to do, I've only had the car for about four days. I was surprised the previous owner was able to make these dents, but I supposed I shouldn't be. I'd love to replace it.
There are also minor dings on the door handle and the metal around the cupholders, but the center console is very noticeable and is bothering me more than I thought it would.
Anyone else having this problem/know a solution?
