2008 s40 headlight issue?
I just bought a 08 s40. I was disappointed when I drove it at night and could not hardly see in front of me. It has the projection headlight lenses but with halogen bulbs. I have already upgraded the bulbs and raised the lights as far as they would go. This did seem to help but still not what you would expect. They are however bright directly in front of the car but that is all. There is no distance to them. Has anyone else had this issue or have any insight?
Sounds like an old problem for the S40's. We have a 2005 S40 that barely makes it passed a car length when on low beam. Dealer changed out lights from another vehicle trying to correct the situiation-no help. These lights are pre-aimed with no adjustment. We added fog lights trying to make it better-it did not. This is my wife's car and she hates driving it at night on low beam. High beam works fine. We live in the country and do not have the added illumination of street lights to help us. Try contacting Volvo. It didn't help when I did but maybe if they hear it from enough people they will do something about it.
Did all of our test drives during the day. First time I drove at night felt like there was a large gap in front of me. It is almost a square cut out of the circle the overlapping beams should create. Was going to look at adjusting the beams but, from this thread seems that is not an option. Will check it out with the dealer..
i recently fitted hid lights to my 03 plate s40 massive difference only problem is they get so hot they burn the protective film on the inside of the lenses, nightmare to rectify the other problem is my headlight keep steaming up and i carnt sort that problem out ANY IDEAS GUYS!!!!!!!!
