I don’t drive it much just to school and back 10 minutes maybe 15 minutes a day in total. I keep my eye on the temp and it hasn’t gone over half way at all. Is there anyway to check the fuel pump and the O2 sensor to see which is not working properly?

Fans are cheap. Engines aren't. Which you end up buying is entirely up to you (it ain't like fixing the fan is going to be cheaper in six months, either).
You can check fuel pressure (plenty of online resources on how to do that), though unless you're pretty technical, the best advice I can give you on the upstream O2 sensor is to swap it and see if it fixes your problem.

How do you know the fan does not come on if your short trips the temp does not go past the warm up , common problems on the T5 is the fuel pressure sensor which may be faulty but then if you only drive a short distance you may not notice you have to give it beans and if it hesitates then that is your problem
I would never drive a car with an electric fan not working as you may be stuck in all sort of conditions and then as mentioned destroy it
I dont know where you live but here in HOT South Africa even in summer the fan does not come on on short trips , the motor has a relatively large oil and coolant capacity so takes a while (if your PCV is working properly) to warm up for the fan to kick in
Have you checked the fan by connecting power to it?
