We've got a 2009 S40 and my air distribution appears to be out of whack. We get the proper temps and the proper adjustable force, but the blowers only push out the defrost. We get a little bleed from the chest vents but nothing at the feet. Ran the codes and got a 0071 and a 0078 (damper position TP faulty position and damper motor diet internal fault respectively). Talking to a couple of shops and it sounds like the whole dash is going to have to come off ($1100 in labor!) and one of apparently 4 motors replaced. This is all theoretical of course, and of course my warranty went out 3 months ago. Any advice, work arounds, knowledge of these issues? Thanks.
