So I bought another Volvo after some deliberation and looking at various options for cars that would be reliable for Ride sharing Uber/Lyft. I have a v50 I've been putting lot of miles on driving full time. It's a great car for that but I really love the car and don't want to run her into the ground. I average 600 miles per week which could increase. I looked at a few other used cars but fell back on narrowing it down to trying to find yet another Volvo that would be good on gas and somewhat low mileage. So far the car seems very solid and came with a clean bill of health/carfax. It has just over 113k miles. It had one owner and routine maintenance. Is there any red flags I should be aware of? So far the only problem I foresee is getting some new front brake rotors in the near future.

 

It's coming up on the timing belt change mileage. Now this isn't that expensive if you DIY but can get a little pricey if someone else does it for you.

 

Yes, the dealer which the car was serviced at recommends replacing the timing belt at around 120k miles. I have a little time. Unfortunately I don't have a way to do it myself though.
