Default 2992 Volvo s40

My 2002 Volvo s40 stumbles on acceleration at about 20 to 50 mph. It does not stumble when I accelerate at slower speeds say 0 to 30 mph.

I am unsure what the problem is. Please help.

Also, my fan motor does not work. I know there is a reply in the FAQ about this, but I could not access the link. I do not think the motor is broken. That has happened to me and the fan motor slowly goes out. It works, one day and does not work the next, then fails after awhile.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Based on the year of your car in the title, I'm thinking it's a bad flux-capacitor .

Not sure about the stumbling. The fan sounds like it could be the fan speed transistor going bad.
Here is a link for the repair.

I was thinking the same thing about the fan resistor. Replace the cabin filter when you are in there. There is a thread somewhere describing soldering a cheap Radio Shack resistor to the heat sink instead of replacing the whole thing from the dealer.

Stumbling has usually been the need for a tune up - plugs, wires, and both coils. How long has it been since your car had some TLC? Any trouble codes set?
