5 engine codes and blown fuse
Origingall posted this in the v40 section by mistake, figured i would post this in the right section. Car is showing 5 codes, it car does not run any different. Fuel mileage seems fine, cleared the codes and they came right back.
- p0100-maf or vaf a circuit malfunction
- p0078-intake valve bank 1 control circuit
- p2401-evap system lk detect pump ctl circuit low
- p2420-evap system switching valve ctl circuit high
- p0458-evap system canister purge sol circuit low

In case anyone is following this, I switched some relays around, cleared the codes and so far the fuse has not popped and the codes have not come back. So I will be replacing a relay and hopefully that is it.
it was one of the relays in the engine compartment. I think it was for engine management, i switch the relay with the fog light relay, replaced fuse 35, cleared the codes, and the car started without popping the fuse. Problem has not come back yet
Hi - just got a 2005 XC90 2.5T and it is throwing these codes:
P2401 Volvo evaporative emission system leak detection pump control circuit low
P2419 Volvo evaporative emission system switching valve control circuit low
Does this look like the same thing you saw on this thread - bad engine management relay?
Thanks!
- Tim

best to start new threads than post on a seven year old one for a different model. With that said, you can start with checking out the wiring diagram ( try volvowiringdiagrams.com) to see which relay and connectors are in play here. Its quite possible that the relay or a connection is bad.
OK, I may start a new thread as you suggest with the same content as above - and thanks for the link.....all 151 pages of it!) Going to sift thru it ASAP, chasing after Evap valve, leak detection pump keywords. On quick look I see the Eval valve ID is 8/18, controlled by fuse 5 in engine compartment...unless I am not reading things right! Thanks again.
