Default Air Con compressor hose leak info please??

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum and have recently bought a great s40 2005 1.8 petrol. Its great to drive and everything is in great condition except the aircon.

It doesnt blow cold so today I took it to have the aircon refilled only to find out there was a leak on the high pressure hose on the compressor. It seems to be a split where the pipe goes into the collar that bolts to the compressor.

Is this a split/crack or perhaps a crushed o-ring? when you push the pipe up and down you could hear gas escaping and the liquid was seeping out.

i took some pictures of it and would really love some feedback from anyone if possible.

Thanks

Eric.

I'm not completely familiar with that hose design. The ones that i've been used to servicing have the aluminum line and mounting pad welded together in a single unit. It appears that yours has a separate center section.

My suggestion is to have the system recovered and then unbolt the line, You will likely find some kind of seal that has failed. Any auto parts shop can help you unless it is some type of Volvo only design.

The bolt on the left doesn’t look to be fully tightened...might it be loose?
