Hi, I've had an A/C leak somewhere, most likely the evaporator, since I bought my '93 850 and have just been recharging the system every time it went low. The other day, It was on the 90's and a/c was cooling fine until I heard a pop and saw a/c oil shoot out from under the hood and smelled refrigerant. I saw some green dye kind of behind the compressor and behind the bottom most a/c hose and assumed I blew that hose.

The other day I turned it on and the a/c engaged and worked great. Charge was a bit low but cooled fine. The next day when it engaged, I heard a grinding/rubber noise from the compressor area. This is an intermittant problem that has also happened before the pop bur now it seems that its grinding & moaning more often so I leave it off.

Do you guys think my compressor is shot?
