Default Alarm Does Not Engage

I have a 2003 Volvo S40 that was in a fender bender recently. Prior to the accident my alarm system worked fine and it had no problems engaging (meaning the lights would flash when the car was locked etc and the led on the inside of the car would flash intermittently). When I got my car back from the body shop after the accident the alarm system no longer worked. I have taken my car to 3 different Volvo dealerships, all of which have hooked my car up to a diagnostic computer and said that no error codes came up and that the alarm system was fine. Whats interesting is that I can still use my remote entry perfectly and I can even set the panic alarm off remotely, but for some reason the alarm itself is not engaging (meaning the led light is not longer flashing and the car gives no indication that the system has been armed upon locking and closing the doors).

What could be the problem? I am getting exhausted of trying to figure this out and may just end up settling on an after market system. I wish the dealerships could be more help, but maybe you guys can point me int he right direction.

On a side note, the fuses are fine. I checked them already.

Thanks!
