Analyzer Did Not Communicate with On Board Computer
I have a 2001 Volvo S40. Last year when I took the vehicle to be inspected, the inspection station computer could not communicate with my vehicle computer. Came back with "The On Board Diagnostic test could not be completed because the analyzer did not communicate with the vehicle's On Board Computer." I took it down the road to another shop and it read the computer and passed inspection.
Time for inspection again, so yesterday I took it back to the shop that it passed with last year. First the shop said a fuse was out and they replaced it at which time the "Check Engine light came on". They then hooked it to their computer for the inspection and again it came back with "The On Board Diagnostic test could not be completed because the analyzer did not communicate with the vehicle's On Board Computer."
Does anybody know what is going on and what I can do about this? Do I need to try a third inspection station?
