Antenna replacement
My daughter has a 2004 Volvo S40 and she went through a car wash and forgot to turn the radio off. Her antenna bent and I ordered a replacement mast. It was very easy to remove the bent mast and once we turned the car on it released the cable. But installing the new antenna is not working. The cable will not grab and we have turned the radio on and off repeatedly. We can hear the motor running so I am assuming it is working properly but it will not grab the cable. Does anyone have any advice?
Keep trying. Usually you have to bend the tip a little one way or another so it will slip past a ledge it is catching on inside the antenna assembly. It's a pain sometimes but keep working at it. It might help to poke it in and out until you fell it get past the ledge in there. Once you're past it you can turn the car off and watch it pull it in.
