Default Anti skid service required S40

Hi, I recently purchased a 57 plate Volvo S40 2.0 petrol, currently at 154k miles, MOT runs out in 2 days however the anti skid service required message has appeared so I know its going to be an instant fail however I'm not actually sure what it's going to be.
I have the anti skid service message and the traction control light on as well.
I have put a brand new battery on the car as the last one wasnt holding charge other than that the car runs fine. Any ideas?
Thanks

The first step would be to scan the car (with a compatible scanner) to find what codes are stored related to the abs/traction controls. Then develop a rational diagnostic plan to determine what is needed.

I also think it’d be better to check for any error codes first. Problems with wheel speed sensors or the ABS module could also be at play here. Considering your car has high mileage, it's also a good idea to check the brakes overall. Worn brake pads or discs could be messing with the ABS and causing those warnings.
