I believe this is the thing that most folks who have done this have had luck with:

The only other real viable option that I'm aware of is using an FM transmitter, which typically sucks.

Powered by Google Docs this is how i installed mine it was relatively easy and was no more the $150 for the parts

well it was never really that good since i got my car but it didnt get any worse if that helps any haha. but since ive installed it theres really no reason for the radio when i have pandora on my phone plus a the 6 disc cd player and a whole ipod full of music iSimple - Apple® iPod® Adapter for Most Vehicle Radios (Basic Install Included) - IS77 this is the one i ended up installing and its awesome! it comes with both the ipod plug which charges your ipod and also an auxiliary hookup so if your looking to do this id say get this one just buy it from someone other then bestbuy cause itll be cheaper
