AUX Mod for '07 S40?
I bought my first Volvo yesterday. A beautiful 2007 S40. I did my research and saw that there should be an aux input in the tray behind the Radio/Climate console. I checked out the car at the dealer and it was great overall - but I forgot to check that there was an aux input. The stock radio is very basic. There is no CD changer. The CD player will not play MP3s on disk - just plain old CD music. Even in the manual it says something about a Mode button int he upper right of the directional pad - mine just says CD. I am assuming I have standard radio. I am 90% in love with this car - I just need my my jams.
I figured, "no problem - someone has a kit for this very purpose." I've been reading on some forums how this is not very straight forward. Stuff about optical cables, cd changers, FM modulators, soldering things right in the radio - stuff that does not seem very simple.
I have very simple needs: Just a plain old Aux Input.
FM Modulation sucks. I cannot jam to the sound of hissing and pops and static. I live in South Florida where the radio space is crowded.
Can someone educate a new comer and point me in the right direction?
