I recently had my bearing assembly replaced on my right front wheel(passenger side). it was a hard task.

The mechanic said I would also need a lower ball joint. I tried to buy one at an autoparts store and was told that I could only buy a complete assembly that included a lower ball joint. The cost was $ 100.00.

I found some place online that sold just the ball joint for $25.00. It did not say if it was lower ball joint or not or not - it was just a ball joint. It was only the ball not-a lower assembly that included the ball joint, but $25.00 vs. $100.00.

Which is the best way to go? My car is 2002 Volvo s40.

Any help appreciated.
