Bi Xenon head lights adjustable?
My 2008 S40's bi xenon head lights seem to shine really low. I can only see about 1 and a half car lengths out. Driving 40+mph it gets a little dangerous. My dealer says they are non adjustable......I find that hard to believe. Any advice? Many thanks!
Well as I don't have a Volvo yet, take my answer with a grain of salt, but this should depend on the type of Xenon headlamps they are using. If they are anything like the BMW or Audi headlamps, the projectors are dynamic, and shift when angle is changed like say on heavy acceleration so on coming drivers aren't blind by them. So they are "self adjusting" but I would think there is a way of manually adjusting the lamp? There isn't anything on it in your manual?
Talked to the dealer again today. They said my lights are not adjustable. They said you can adjust them up but the car's programing will bring them back down as soon as you start the car......is this true?
The Bi-Xenons are adjustable, They also have to be self leveling, so it could be either mechanism that is out of spec. The self-leveling adjustment has to be done through a VIDA (computer) interface at a dealer (or independent Volvo shop with a VIDA interface).
