Default Bigger Turbo????

hey all. so i had my 2000 s40 tuned. its running 12 psi boost through the tune. no boost controller. Would i be able to upgrade the 12t turbo to a 14t turbo without changing anything? im assuming the computer would allow the TCV to control the boost but i would have a bit more pop and flow from the slightly larger turbo? is this correct? I was told by the tuner i could just bolt the larger turbo on but i wanted to make sure.

I was also going to slightly modify my stock turbo. i was going to get a slightly uprated CBV from forge and the snabb TCV. anyone used uprated springs in the cbv?

also how much can my motor take. i have the b4204t2 or t3 i beleive. Id like to run as much boost and hp as possible while still being a nice daily driver. I like the 12psi im running now but i think maybe a slightly bigger turbo will give it a little more pop and let the boost hit a little harder up to that 12psi level?

Yes you can install the 14t without changing anything, but you may want to check into a bigger downpipe to help get the exhaust out of the bigger turbo. You may want to read up on have the 14t from another model needs to be fitted.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking of also going the slightly cheaper route of a MBC. how much boost is the engine capable of carrying. i know the internals and trans are only good for 300hp or less. How would you recommend installing? throw in a wideband and turn up the boost until im happy

I did look into the 14t but i could only find a single scroll not a twin scroll which i wanted. i did find a twin scroll 19t but i dont know if the motor could pull it off if i just bolted it on. and even if it would just bolt on a run with my tune and be controlled by the factory boost sensors there would probably be a crap load of lag.
