Default Boost Gauge Mounting

I was wondering on where you guys think a boost gauge should be mounted on my 01 s40. Can't really do the Pillar because it is cloth, and no way in hell i am paying 170ish for iPD's mounting kit.

Wondering if you guys had any ideas?

On the pillar is the place where you will look away from the road the least. It is useless if you have to turn your head to see it.I didnt like the mounting solutions either so I made my own.

Gerberguyea, can you give me some advice where you got that pillar?
I have been looking for weeks on different websites, even IPD (where I got the boost gauge) have pillars for S40 2001.

I will appreciate if you share your secret!

i ended up mounting mine on the cluster.

Since Volvo has full side curtain airbags, the gauge can kill you if you get in an accident and they deploy.

I used a simple pod would fit anything. It really doesnt matter as long as it doesnt stand out too much away from the pillar cover.Even then you can shape it with a heat gun.It gets covered you can not tell after if it doesnt fit perfect under the fabric.
Here is some pictures of the templates my beloved wife created for me.Any taylor or whoever is familiar with how to make clothes could do it for you.
You can get the fabric at the dealer or I even saw it at PepBoys.
The airbag is not really any issue the bag doesnt inflate behind the cover at all and its just pops off as it does without the pods then stays there. It is not designed to fly anywhere in fact it has two retaining clip secured so it doesnt fly off.

Thanks so much for sharing your great idea. I really want something that looks nice, I think your pillar looks awesome! I have already the heat gun, now I will shopping around to find a universal gauge and then shape it with the heat gun. After that I have a person who design cloths, she probably will help me.

I really appreciate your advice my friend.
If you have more pics from inside, will be very helpfull.

Best regards,

Your friend Monfu.
