Last weekend I replaced the pads and rotors on my Volvo V40 2001. Besides the usual small issues all went fine. I did bleed some of the fluid out of the system.

The next morning I noticed that the brakes are hard in the morning and after about a minute or so they are fine for the rest of the day. I have read a lot about the brake booster valve, the hose etc. being perhaps the issue, but the coincidence of this occurring at exactly the same time is a bit strange - prior to replacing everything the brakes were OK, albeit worn.

Any thoughts?

Check your vaccuum valve at the brake booster and the vacuum lines.
