Default A/C could blow better

I checked my A/C charge and it is perfect. Wondering if I should change out my squirrel cage blower? Do the vanes clogg up, does the fan motor itself weaken? Just lookin for ideas before I open the fan compartment up. S40 is 11 years old, here in Florida, it gets a lot of work.

Have you changed the cabin filter yet?

Remove it and run the system and see if the air flow is better. If it is time for new filter. Also are you running it on recirc?

Good idea, will try that later today. Yes I run it on recirculate occasionally, no difference in air flow though. Few months back, I did have some crap spitting out of vents, maybe some insulation or something from fan box?

You should feel a difference between recirc and non. Maybe the recirc motor is not working.

I removed filter and yes, air flow is a little better. Also, when I turn on recirc, I feel and hear no difference, but I think it does shut off fumes from outside. Gonna order a new charcoal cabin filter today. Thanks.

You should still hear a difference between recirc and non. It will also drop the inside temp about 12-15 degrees using the recirc.

Ither there is something blocking the recirculate door -- an animal perhaps. Or the electric actuator is malfuncting, or it could be a ton of other things.

use a mercury thermometer and stick it in the center vent, close all other vents and make the air only come out of the vent you have the thermometer stuck in. Put a/c on recirculate and somewhere between low and medium.

have car and a/c running with windows closed. You should have ~40-45 degrees blowing out of the vent on a ~78 degree day. I like tuning that (by adjusting the freon charge) and get 35 degrees.
