newby here with a question for you guys...have a 06 s40, freon islow and the black leather was mighty sticky this memorial day weekend...is there a special fitting on these things, cause the fitting i had would not go on. Please help my preganant wife is about to freak out on me

I'm an 850 driver and do not usually go out of the 850 forum, so please regard this as a "better-than-nothing" ref only.

I am not sure if there are different size low-side charge ports to different models, but you could perhaps try some research to see if you can find an answer:

Or, visit a local Volvo dealer and ask the service rep. In case if you want to charge the system, make sure to buy a reputable kit, know the system pressure specs (most kits come with gauge that have colour-coded bands) and try not to overcharge. Also, most kits come with PAG oil already mixed with R134a. Follow directions that come with the kit.

It is strange that your S40 is only 2-year old and it is hard to imagine that the charge is already low, unless there was some damage done to the system. See if the system holds pressure. If not, have the system repaired at a shop that specialises in Swedish/Euro makes.
