I've just entered the volvo world with a fine s40 2.4i example punished by 100k miles only.

I'm keeping my question short because the causes and problems are widely covered in the forums.

THis is the first car i'm going to work on all by myself, so hopefully i'll be able to contribute with the fixes i perfom on it!

I think you are in uncharted territory here. I have never heard of anyone trying this before. If you go this route please post your results?
