car wont start, special case
S40 2.0T MY2000 automatic with 210.000kms petrol engine
Hello, I´m new here and need your help. When I 'introduce the key in the ignition lock, it turns upto pos. III w/o problems. But imposible to move it more to start the engine running. Seems like a lock-blocking. I tried with my 2nd key reserve, but doesnt move also, no noise no click, nada.
gear selector stays always on pos. P or N for starting, Battery seems to be ok with 12,7V and the car always was running very good before. I feel that there cud b a relationship between the lock and the gear lever, pnp switch- or gear position sensor. What do u think ? I´m out of ideas. Any help would be extremely helpful.
Besides, very unpleasant to be blocked in countryside w/o phone coverage

thank you vm for yr reply, I didnt think in the safety switch. Meantimely I tried out yr suggestion but w/o success. Ignition lock does not release neither in position D nor in others. The car was towed now to a Volvo dealer and they want to change coil ignition and security switch together as worn-out according to her diagnostic statement. 500 bucks all included.
