Default CEL came on

Hello everybody. I have a 2002 s40 1.9T with a check engine light that just came on after a bumpy unpaved road.
I'm wondering if anyone could tell me what needs to be done, and how soon it needs to be done.
thanks!

You need to have the codes pulled to see what they are.

Thanks for both of you!
I had code P0101(related with MAF or VAF) already, and after check the air filter, the light's gone by itself.
Guess the shaking on the unpaved road made the filter loose.

Could have jiggled the connector to the MAF too. You could also clean the MAF. There's a link to a how-to in my sticky FAQ thread.

In recent days, sometimes the CEL came back and after a while it disappeared automatically. If it doesn't matter, want nothing to do.
