I have had my driver's seatbelt replaced on my 2002 Volvo s40. It (the explosive mechanism) was triggered after a fender bender. However, the currently installled belt is very worn and tattered. It even lacks the button on the belt which keeps the seat belt tongue (which is inserted in the clamp) from falling down into the area where it can interere with closing the driver's side door.

Hence, I want to change the belt but keep the new untriggerd mechanism which keeps my airbag light off on the dash. Can this be done?

The belt device has a nice mechansim, but the belt itself is worn and is missing the button that keeps the left tongue from falling down and interfering with door closing.

I want to chnage the belt itself nothing else!
