Annoying clicking coming from behind the glovebox on startup.
Sound mechanical
Anyone have anyidea what it could be?

Clicks for maybe 5 seconds. Something clunks into place. It stops

Does not do it everyday, but most days it does. It is very annoying and I just want it gone!

Yes I did! I turned that off today and it seemed to stop!!
What is the problem?

The Recirc motor most likely has a stripped gear. It is a major PITA to replace.

How much $$$ at the dealer?
Could I do it myself?

Will it hurt anything to not get it fixed and just turn recirculate off?

Not sure on the price you might be able to do yourself. Leaving it off will not hurt anything.

How much for just the motor itself?
