Clutch or transmission rattling?
Fairly new 2005 Volvo S40 2.4i owner. Also new to driving a manual transmission. Most of the time when the clutch is engaged, there's a sort of rattling/ticking noise. It's been there since before I owned the car. It isn't there every single time I drive, but on most days it is, and it always goes away when I press the clutch pedal. It goes away even when the clutch is only partially disengaged. Nothing seems to be wrong with the performance though, the clutch isn't slipping and I haven't noticed it getting any worse.
Any ideas on what the problem could be, and is it something that needs to be fixed before it causes any other problems?
Thanks!
