Default Couple of Questions

I am a new 2004 S40 1.9T owner and have a couple of questions...

1. How do you tell between a 2004 and a 2004.5?

2. Should I be concerned about a check engine light? i.e. misfiring, expensive repair, or could be something minor?

Thanks for the help.

Your model is first generation.
The 04.5 has a new body style.

check engine light could be anything. could be a gas cap up to the engine about to blow and everything in between. take it to Auto Zone and have then run it for codes and then come back and tell us what code it's reading and we can let you know.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the input. I will get that checked out tomorrow and report back. How do you know I have the old body style?

Also is the maintenance on a S40 generally good or is it above average expense wise?

I love the car I just want to know if it was a good choice?

Thanks again.

I know you have the old body style because it's an 04 1.9T... the new body style doesn't have the 1.9T...

Volvos are very particular vehicles. If you keep up on your maintenance, then should be inexpensive (figurative speaking). If you neglect it, then it's going to get expensive, but that's the same for anything out there. Parts wise,http://www.fcpgroton.com/ this is the place to get Volvo parts super cheap!
