Does anywhere work on S40 TCMs?
Hi - My 2006 S40 T5's Transmission Control Module has gone bad. I've checked with three different ECM/TCM repair specialists and none of them work on S40s even though they do other Volvos. It is apparently very rare for the TCM to go on this car. Is there anywhere that does this work for S40s. Alternatively, does anywhere do software clones for S40 TCMs? If not, is it possible to install a used TCM if all the serial numbers match up without the software clone? I've seen conflicting information online. THANK YOU.

a few thoughts. 1) inspect and clean all the contacts going to the TCM and transmission (including ground wires back to the chassis) 2) not sure if the TCM is paired to the ECU but you can probably find a used part on eBay for like $50-75 and try swapping in. 3) Google for shops that rebuild "modules" ie https://www.aesmodules.com/volvo-repair
Out of curiosity, what makes you think the TCM is bad? What fault codes are you seeing?
