hi everyone,

I hear about different people on this forum upgrading their ECU. Where can I get mine done? I am from New York and would prefer to drive my car somewhere to get it repragrammed or upgraded? what is everyones experience, and is their any side effects?

Are you talking about a preformance upgrade or a dealer ECM upgrade to remedy problems you may be having?

 

Well the ECM, doesn't have anything to do with the ECU. Now the guy might have got them mistaken.

So, but whatever.

If you want an upgraded ECU you have some options. If you want to drive somewhere, the place you would want to go to would be SpeedTuning USA in Maryland. The guy you want to contact there is Oliver.

IPD is another one, but you will have to send your ECU out to them. However after checking their site it doesn't look like they have a ECU upgrade for you. I would call them and check if they can still do it or not.

RICA Viva Performance is the U.S. RICA dealer. http://www.vivaperformance.com/catalog/ However it seems they only do the new S40's. You still might to check RICA out as they might be able to work something out for you. Just like IPD might be able to.
