Default Empty Rims

This seems kinda funny. I aquired my wifes 2001 volvo S40. Beautiful car, we've owned it for most of it's life. Yesterday as I examined the rims, I noticed glue in the center of wheel, where maybe something had once belonged. I've washed this car for 10 years and can't remember what might have been there. Thats why this seems really funny, because all center circles on the rims have this glue like pattern. Were there VOLVO circular buttons there? Wow how did that happen to me?

Well it's gonna be a little while since I just got back to WA from my cross country trip to take them in the first place. hahah.

You can try to find some used ones by posting in the wanted section on SS. (Swedespeed Forums - Want Ads). But I'd just buy them new from iPd. (Volvo Alloy Wheel Center Cap S40 V40)

I'd just send you a set but none of the extra center caps I have from my 850 or S60 will fit the first gen S40.

they don't need glue to get them so stay on. If some one put glue on them they probably broke them to begin with.

I've just been through this with my new (to me) 2000 V40 that I bought for my teenage son. Two of the center caps were missing. I noticed when I replaced them that the new ones are an upgraded design with a much stronger "snap" function. So the glue was probably someone's (Volvo's ?) attempt to overcome the deficiencies in the original design. Anyhow, the car has already lost one of the two remaining original center caps, so I'll be buying two more. Part number 30638643 - $7.42 from tascaparts.com.

Maybe I should try to explain better. Center Caps are still in rims, faces have fallen off. They must have been a 3 part system, metal ring around plastic clip on piece, and plastic faceplate glued onto it. It's the glue I can see smeared on main plastic piece.
