lately the engine fan on my 2001 s40 runs constantly pretty loud, and sometimes itll stay on a few minutes after i shut the car off. Everything else runs great, i dont have any check engine or any other light on.

anyone know if this is normal or what could be bad?

have you messed with the MAF ....
i cleaned my MAF ( mass air flow) sensor one day and forgot to plug in the wire... then the fan ran alot and would run for a couple minutes after i shut the car off...

 

Might want to check the thermostat and coolant temp sensor.

 

go and get codes pulled. but its a safe bet that its a faulty ECT sensor and T-Stat
