8 months ago I bought a second hand S40 2000 with 66,000km on it. Even after 11,000km, the engine oil level was at the same level as when I bought the car. I notived though that the oil level has reduced slightly during the last week (78,000km up to this moment). My guess is that as the engine oil has to be changed soon (in 2,000km the 80,000km service will take place) its viscosity has been altered, thus the engine burns it more easily than before. After I change the oil I hope to see the oil level stabilising again, up until the next change of course. Anyone had a similar problem or experience? Please let me know, I'll be very disappointed to find out that my engine burns oil!

 

too ensure that your motor runs properly, besides having the oil changed you should have a tune up done, including air/fuel filter, spark plugs, and other minor things....
