I have a 2001 S40 that had a head gasket replaced. The check engine and oil pressure light came on and had the following error codes:
1. PO 335 MOD $13 10F2 Crankshaft position sensor `A` circuit malfunction.
2. PO 341 MOD $13 Camshaft position sensor `A` Bank 1 CKT range /perf

I have changed 2 sets of spark plugs and the plugs get darkened and had gasoline on it after a couple of starts. The car shakes when stop at an uphill position.

Please help!!!!

 

these codes will come up if there is bad fuel pressure, maybe it is the fuel pressure regulator is defective. Cannot see the two sensors been faulty it is a bit of a coincidence. If your crankshaft sensor was faulty your car will not start sometimes!?! Does it? I have looked up somwhere before on the net about these codes been pulled and they will come up for a number of reasons but cant remember them only the fuel pressure theory!!! Take your oil cap off after a run and see if the oil smells of gasoline if so it may well very be the FPR.as above. Hope this helps let me know.

With refrence to previous problems, the mechanics took the top part of the engine and reasemble it and now the car would not start.
He says that it was due to the cam shaft allignments.

Could anyone relate to how to alligned the top dead center for the crank and camshaft position mode ?

According to him there may be a special tools that are required.

Yes special tools are needed. You will need to lock the cams to set it all up.
