Default Evolve 3" downpipe

I just purchased an Evolve 3" downpipe and was advised by a friend not to have it installed. Evidently the problem with this downpipe is that the O2 sensoris lower to the ground than the stock one andis more likely tohit something on the road and get ripped off. I called Evolve about this possible design problem and they said it wasn't an issuebecause the O2 sensor was in the same spot as the stock sensor. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I spent over $1,000 on the downpipeand don't want any problems in the future.

I suggest you measure and see if indeed it is in the same spot. Then you would know.

I highly doubt EVOLVE would put the O2 sensor lower so that it could be easier to rip off. That would be stupid on their part, I dont think they would do that.

Who told you that?

Just measure it and see, pretty simple to do.

The problem is that Evolve uses a larger than stock catalytic converterand by doing that it placed the O2 sensor lower to the ground. A Volvo dealer mechanic warned me about this problem before I had it installed. Does anyone have an '05 S40 T5 with this 3" Evolve downpipe? If so, any problems.

I seen this product before and the amount of difference isn't that much. However, I have seen problems getting this to fit well.

Your friend that told you that EVOLVE places the O2 sensor closer to the ground is telling you a complete lie. What it sounds like is that he is trying to get you to buy another companies product or for you to give doubts in other peoples minds about the quality of EVOLVE's products.

Do you really think EVOLVE would do something like place an O2 sensor closer to the ground with the thought that maybe owners would or could lower their cars? That would be poor engineering on their part, something that they dont have.

You'll be 100% fine with this downpipe, so stop listening to these people, they are just bad mouthing EVOLVE for no reason at all.
