Just bought a used volvo s40 1.8 , came to insurance and am baffling my insurance company , Any idea what the trim would be on my new car?

On the mot certs it says its a 1.8 S reg S40, Direct Injection.

on the hpi check it says also 1.8i petrol , but the isurance company want to know the trim like CD or SE or whatever, how can i find this out quickly?

S reg
I take it from this that you are in the UK. I think that with the S40 you will find there is no specific trim. However, the insurance company will be linked to the DVLA computer and by giving them the vehicle registration number theywill be able to get all the information they need. Call centre opeerators are trained to ask certain questions. They are not expected to think.

Don't fall into the trap of doing the insurance company's work for them. You pay them to look after you.
