Fogged up right front headlight

Fogged up right front headlight
Hi, love my 2000 40. Has 39k miles. Just had to have ac repaired 1,000$. Also had fogging problem with right front headlight area. Mechanic said seal was dry...didn't work so replaced entire headlight area 800$.
Anyone heard of this issue? It is not the plexiglas that is fogged but the entire area would get steamed up when the ac ran and it was hot/humid outside here in Florida.
This all leads me to ask if anyone can suggest a "warranty" plan to buy. I am now afraid that my low mileage car (which I love) will need brakes, trans, etc. in the near future.
Thanks for any info.

That's the actual mileage. It was used "during the season" here in FL. then left. All service records in order. But you are right things did dry out. Tires had to be replaced and the AC had major leak so cost a bundle to repair. I also had the faded bumper black rubber replaced (vanity you know ) but it was quite inexpensive 40 $ per strip and install was easy.
Just wondering if I should protect myself with a "warranty" purchase...if they even had such a thing for a 10 year old S40.
But I love the car...great road feel and peppy and I trust it...so overall very happy with the purchase.
thanks for all who view and reply.
